Reliance Wimax…. got it finally .. and guess what it sucks..!!@#$^#@$

October 2, 2007

This post was getting a lot of search engine traffic.. so I wrote a more elaborate review of Reliance Wimax/Broadnet on my other blog. You can read the same HERE.

Finally I got the reliance broadnet(Wi-Max) connection that I had applied for. I am so very happy because i had lost all hopes…. I mean I had applied like a month ago. The guy from reliance told me I’ll be getting the connection within 10 – 15 days.

About my plan, its the Rs 999, 300 kbps unlimited plan.

Well about my experience so far…

As i mentioned earlier the Reliance salesman told me that I’ll be getting the connection within 10-15 days. But i got the connection only after a month. The reason – Mostly the salesman’s fault… this S.O.A.B(ya the salesman) took Rs 650 as installation fees from me while the actual amount was 500 which i didn’t know, so when the reliance customer care called me up to confirm my details, I happily told them I had paid 650 bucks. So the customer care executive, without informing me, put a comment “False Transaction” against my application.

Because of this my connection was getting delayed. In the meantime i kept calling the salesman, who never bothered to answer my calls, it was only when  i went to the reliance outlet that they informed me of the same and returned Rs 150. And this time the senior apologized and assured that i’ll be getting the connection within 2-3 days. Even then i got around 15 days after the promised date.

Now about the connection, although i subscribe to the 300 kbps plan, i get a download speed of 25-30 kbps at the max. It gets disconnected at least 3 times a day. The whole experience has been very sad.

Also connecting multiple computers is a big pain. When i called the customer care, they said my plan was a single log-in plan(of course, contrary to what the reliance guy had told me… i wanna kill that motherfucker).

If any of you are plannin to get a reliance Wi-Max.. Go for it only if you live in an area close to a reliance tower, otherwise the signal will be quite weak and hence low speed. The cost of  installation is just 500(inclusive of tax and everything), paying 150 bucks extra will only delay connection. Make sure you speak to a well trained(good knowledge about the service and various plans) person from Reliance before selecting your plan.

Hope u guys won’t get into all the shit i went through….
